Why Should You Refer Your Patients To Illinois Retina?
Ensuring High-Quality, Reliable, Continuous Vitreoretinal Care
You’ve worked hard to cultivate close relationships with your patients. At Illinois Retina Associates, we value this connection and thank you for considering us for your patient referrals. Rest assured, we will strive to provide them with high-quality, individualized vitreoretinal care. Throughout your patients’ entire experience with us, we will provide you with continuous communication, including all diagnostic and treatment findings.
Vitreoretinal Diagnosis and Treatment, On The Personal level
Having opened our doors to patient care in 1975, Illinois Retina has since emerged as the Midwest’s leading destination for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple conditions affecting the retina and related components, including the macula and vitreous. Despite our geographic reach, we place great importance on personalized patient care and treatment, whether for our patients or those referred to us.
Upon our introduction, we try to get to know our new patients to put them at ease. They’re also more inclined to provide helpful information about their situation, enabling us to devise an effective treatment plan. Our technicians and doctors can then use our full suite of advanced techniques and equipment to quickly provide an accurate diagnosis and initiate treatment.
A Team of Retinal Medical and Surgical Professionals
We have been fortunate to work with an unrivaled team of ophthalmologists and surgeons, including a fellowship-trained ocular oncologist specializing in the treatment of cancer of the eye. They’ve received training at leading educational centers, including Johns Hopkins and Columbia University. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, our medical team is recognized as experts in various disciplines and vitreoretinal subspecialties. When it comes to your patient referrals, we provide comprehensive care for such conditions as:
- Macular Degeneration
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Vascular Occlusive Diseases
- Retinal Tears and Detachments
- Ocular Oncology
- Uveitis
International Fellowship
We have also found immeasurable success with our Retina Fellowship, which has helped us to train future Vitreoretinal Surgeons from around the globe. Our own IRA physicians — professors, associate and assistant professors, and lecturers themselves — provide the educational backbone of this program.
For young physicians, this Fellowship provides opportunities to experience clinical trials, one-on-one interaction with attending physicians, and surgical observation. Through our patients’ generosity, eligible students receive an academic scholarship.
