Sister Jean Schmidt With Dr. MacCumber

Sister Jean Schmidt BVM is the chaplain for the Loyola Ramblers men’s basketball team, the Cinderella team that made it to the NCAA Final Four in 2018 with Sister Jean rooting them on. This year was no different! Despite the obstacles of the pandemic, the 101-year-old nun’s love for the team has only strengthened and now, fully vaccinated against COVID-19, she’s enjoyed watching Loyola compete in this year’s March Madness. Unfortunately, the team was defeated this past weekend. We are certain that she will be rooting them on again next year!
