Dr. Hasan at AAO 2021
Dr. Hasan attended the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting in New Orleans in November of 2021. As President of the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Hasan represented physicians and patients in the great state of Illinois at the Academy’s Council Meeting. He also completed his five year tenure on the Ophthalmology Political Action Committee (OPHTHPAC). The Academy’s non-partisan OPHTHPAC committee gives ophthalmologists and their patients a voice on Capitol Hill. This helps preserve our profession’s ability to provide quality care. Dr. Hasan has now been appointed to the prestigious position of Chairman of OPHTHPAC. As a result, during the AAO 2021 meeting in NOLA, Dr. Hasan had a special opportunity to meet with the only ophthalmologist in the U.S. House of Representatives, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD, on Friday, Nov. 12.
