Dr. Hasan At AMA National Advocacy Conference

Dr. Hasan was asked to attend the American Medical Association’s National Advocacy Conference on February 23 and 24, 2021 on behalf of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. During the conference, Dr. Hasan virtually met with Mr. Marcus Garza from the office of U.S Congresswoman Marie Newman to discuss important congressional issues related to patient care. Congresswoman Newman’s district encompasses parts of southwestern Chicago as well as many of its nearby suburbs such as Oak Lawn, Western Springs and Lockport. Some of the issues discussed included preventing cuts to Medicare and protecting access to telehealth services during and beyond the COVID-19 public health emergency
